Swaddle, made of 100% cotton, is suitable for babies aged 0 to 3 months, weight from 3.5 to 6.5 kg and length from 50 to 62 cm.
With the swaddling cloth, your baby is easy to swaddle and you can recreate the feeling of safety that the womb also gave. This makes it easier for your child to relax. If your baby is restless or cries a lot, swaddling is an aid to get your baby relaxed and calm again more quickly.
In addition, babies are not aware that they have arms. As a result, they often mow themselves awake. This is called moro reflex. Because of the swaddling, they can't move their arms, which also gives them peace of mind.
Furthermore, swaddling also teaches your baby to fall asleep. In the womb, they naturally fell asleep due to the rocking that occurs when the mother moves. When they are born, they suddenly have to do it themselves and therefore learn it. Swaddling helps with that.
If you are dealing with a restless or crying baby, it is important to know whether the restlessness or crying has no medical cause. So always consult a midwife, maternity assistant or doctor before you start swaddling.
Most babies benefit from swaddling until about 3 to 4 months. However, there are also babies who benefit from swaddling for longer. It is important to start weaning from swaddling in time. From the moment your baby can roll over, usually around 6 to 7 months, it is dangerous and you should stop swaddling immediately.
How does swaddling work:
1. Place your baby so that the shoulders are level with the top of the swaddle. The leg is placed in the footmuff.
2.Fold the left flap attached around your baby's body and arms. Attach both Velcro parts to each other.
3.Fold the right flap over the left flap and attach the two Velcro fasteners to the Velcro part of the left flap.
The flaps should be fastened tight, but your baby should not be constricted. The baby's arms are best stretched out along the side of the body when swaddling. Always put the baby to sleep on its back during swaddling.
